The K&D story began as the founders purchased their first 8-suiter, which was in desperate need of repair and renovation. As they completed the physical improvements themselves, they began to forge a philosophy in how to relate to their residents. Treat each resident with respect, provide a premier community environment, and care for the product as if they lived there themselves. Simple as this philosophy may seem, its very essence sets K&D apart from its competitors. In recent years, we have expanded our portfolio to include Senior Housing. We envision this type of property as an opportunity to bring even further stability and growth to our firm. Our experience to date has been very positive, and it is our desire to continue to focus in this area as opportunities arise.
K&D recognized a significant opportunity in Downtown Cleveland, beginning with the development of Stonebridge on the West Bank of the Flats, and continuing with the acquisition of The Reserve Square, a mixed-use community, which also introduced our first hotel, The Embassy Suites Cleveland-Downtown. This recent success became the impetus to develop our newest premiere mixed-use property Downtown, The Residences at 668.
